People Smooth as Sea Glass?

Sea glass is also known as beach glass. The varied bits of colored glass are sometimes pieces of pottery, but often they are pieces of shattered glass bottles. Originally the glass had a purpose: holding soft drinks, pickles, mustard. When it was discarded, it became broken.

If the broken glass ends up in an ocean, its journey is just beginning. As it is relentlessly tossed about by currents and tides, its jagged edges are ground down by the sand and waves and eventually are smoothed away and rounded off.

The result is something very beautiful; it’s like a jewel of the sea. It’s collectible as artwork.

In a similar way, your people – your staff members – are like broken glass smoothed by the sea. Wouldn’t it be great to learn to find the rough broken people and smooth them into a jewel of a staff member? Perhaps you could take an existing staff member and smooth them off. Maybe you could smooth off yourself also in the process.

Make sure your hiring and recruiting process gives you a competitive advantage for finding the “best fit” people for your staff needs. Make sure you have a competitive advantage staff member retention program to the “best fit” people for your staff needs.

Remember, having people smooth as sea glass is achievable. Learn how to become People Smooth. Attend our People / Auto Staffing Process Intensive starting August 26, 2014.
